Job Overview :
The District Program Coordinator will oversee the district-level implementation of the "Boosting Demand for Routine Immunization and Reducing Zero-Dose Children" project under the GAVI HSS-3 initiative. The coordinator will work closely with district health departments, local partners, and community organizations to ensure the effective delivery of immunization services, with a focus on increasing demand and coverage, particularly among zero-dose children.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Program Implementation: Lead the district-level implementation of the immunization project, ensuring alignment with state and regional strategies.
2. Coordination: Facilitate coordination between district health departments, local government units, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
3. Capacity Building: Organize training sessions and workshops for health workers, volunteers, and community leaders to enhance immunization service delivery at the district level.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans to track program progress, identify challenges, and ensure data-driven decision-making.
5. Community Engagement: Foster community engagement through awareness campaigns, mobilization activities, and partnerships with local influencers to boost immunization demand.
6. Supportive supervision: Conduct supportive supervision visits to ensure effective implementation and adherence to intervention within the assigned block.
7. Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports for the State Program Coordinator, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
8. Budget Management: Manage program budgets at the district level, ensuring funds are allocated efficiently and transparently.
Technical Skills :
1. Strong understanding of routine immunization programs and strategies to reduce zero-dose children.
2. Proven experience in stakeholder coordination and community engagement.
3. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Knowledge of regional language (Garo) is mandatory.
4. Ability to work independently and in a team within a fast-paced environment.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
