Job Overview :

The Block Level Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the "Boosting Demand for Routine Immunization and Reducing Zero-Dose Children" project at the block level under the GAVI HSS-3 initiative. The coordinator will work closely with Field mobilizers, block health departments, local partners, and community organizations to ensure the effective delivery of immunization services, with a focus on increasing demand and coverage, particularly among zero-dose children.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Program Implementation: Lead the block-level implementation of the immunization project, ensuring alignment with district, state, and regional strategies.
2. Coordination: Facilitate coordination between block health departments, local government units, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
3. Capacity Building: Organize training sessions and workshops for health workers, volunteers, and community leaders to enhance immunization service delivery at the block level.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans to track program progress, identify challenges, and ensure data-driven decision-making.
5. Community Engagement: Foster community engagement through awareness campaigns, mobilization activities, and partnerships with local influencers to boost immunization demand.
6. Supportive supervision: Conduct supportive supervision visits to ensure effective implementation and adherence to intervention within the assigned block.
7. Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports for the District Program Coordinator, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
8. Data Management: Ensure accurate and timely data collection, reporting, and analysis to inform program strategies and interventions.
9. Problem-Solving: Identify and address barriers to immunization, proposing and implementing solutions to improve service delivery and community acceptance.

Technical Skills :

1. Strong understanding of routine immunization programs and strategies to reduce zero-dose children.
2. Proven experience in stakeholder coordination and community engagement.
3. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
6. Knowledge of regional language (Garo).
